The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In an area that has among the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving lucrative too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
