The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually pressed up the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.
In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
